RRB Group D Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who clear the Computer-Based Test (CBT) are shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This stage evaluates the physical fitness of applicants. The PET is only a qualifying round and does not carry any marks in the final merit list. However, clearing it is compulsory to proceed further in the selection process. The PET consists of two separate activities.
RRB Group D Physical Test for Male Candidates
For male applicants, the physical efficiency test includes two compulsory events: weight lifting and running. Candidates must complete both tasks within the prescribed time limits to qualify for this stage. Failure to clear any one activity will result in disqualification from the recruitment process.
Weight Lifting Test (Male):
Weight: 35 kg
Distance: 100 meters
Time Limit: 2 minutes
Condition: Must be completed in one attempt without dropping the weight
Running Test (Male):
Distance: 1000 meters
Time Limit: 4 minutes 15 seconds
Attempts: Single attempt only
Male candidates failing to meet the above physical standards are disqualified from further stages, irrespective of their CBT score.
RRB Group D Physical Test for Female
The RRB Group D physical test for female candidates is designed to assess strength and stamina with comparatively adjusted benchmarks. Female candidates must qualify in both weight lifting and running tests.
Weight Lifting Test (Female):
Weight: 20 kg
Distance: 100 meters
Time Limit: 2 minutes
Condition: Must be completed in one attempt
Running Test (Female):
Distance: 1000 meters
Time Limit: 5 minutes 40 seconds
Attempts: Single attempt only
Female candidates must complete both tasks within the prescribed limits to be considered PET qualified.
RRB Group D Running Time Requirements
The RRB Group D running time is a crucial qualifying parameter in the Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates are given only one chance to complete the running task, making preparation essential.
| Category | Distance | Time Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Male | 1000 meters | 4 min 15 sec |
| Female | 1000 meters | 5 min 40 sec |
Failure to complete the run within the allotted time results in immediate disqualification from the recruitment process.
Note: Candidates with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from PET, but they must clear the medical examination as prescribed by the Railway Recruitment Board.
RRB Group D Document Verification
Candidates who pass both the CBT and PET move to this stage. This is an important step. A candidate's original documents are checked here. All details must match the application form. Any mismatch can lead to a candidate's rejection. A candidate must bring all original papers. A list of required documents is provided by RRB.
